IASCE Conference 2004
Cooperative learning is a vital and well-researched educational concept. It has proven to be effective in helping students learn academic content and skills, develop critical and creative thinking abilities, build productive and equitable relationships with diverse peers, and value and enjoy learning. Through both application and research, our understanding of the power of cooperation continues to increase and so does our commitment to expanding the use of cooperation, to deepening understanding of how cooperation can be appropriately developed in differing contexts, and to encouraging innovation based on collaborative principles.
With a focus on these commitments, The National Institute of Education (NIE) is proud to join with the International Association for the Study of Cooperation in Education (IASCE) to host this conference. NIE, as the sole teacher education institution in Singapore, has the primary responsibility of preparing teachers for the school system. IASCE, established in 1979, is the sole international, non-profit organization founded specifically to support educators who research and practice cooperative learning. Previous conferences co-hosted by IASCE have been held in Europe, Australia, North America, and the Middle East. NIE is pleased to bring IASCE and this exciting conference opportunity to Asia for the first time.
Check for possible participation.

Come Together Conference
On behalf of the 2004 Conference Planning Committee, your board of directors, and your NCCE Staff, I would like to welcome you to Spokane and the thirty-third annual NCCE instructional technology conference.
We have tried to provide a variety of activities that will give you a look at what’s new in educational technology...and have some fun in the process! You will find carefully structured sessions for different interests and different knowledge levels, and I hope that you will find new techniques and strategies that you can take back to your classroom to implement and share.
This year you will find over 130 sessions, 50 workshops, and a variety of student sessions and presentations that show the practical integration of technology in the classroom. You will also have the opportunity to view a variety of DigiTalkie presentations submitted by students from around our region and to talk to students about their classroom projects.

Discussion Forum
Instructional Technology Forum:
"ITFORUM is an electronic listserv where people from around the world discuss theories, research, new paradigms, and practices in the field of Instructional Technology. ITFORUM was founded in 1994 and has been sponsored since its inception by the Department of Instructional Technology at The University of Georgia. The list is open to anyone interested in instructional technology (a special invitation is extended to graduate students in IT programs)
ITFORUM is a little different from most listservs in that specific discussions are conducted throughout the year. From time to time, leaders in the field are invited to write a short paper or essay that is posted on the website prior to discussion. This guest discussant remains available electronically on the list for a period of one week to discuss, debate, or answer questions from subscribers. "
