This is the fourth Networked Learning Conference. Our previous conferences have welcomed researchers, practitioners, students, policy makers, staff developers and managers from across the globe. Some attendees travelled from as far as India, Hong Kong, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and North America to this three day conference.

Those attending the conference have told us that it is a very friendly event during which it is easy to get to know people, share experiences and generally network. Attendees appreciate the care we take to welcome them and ensure they have a useful and enjoyable three days.

The venue this year is the beautiful campus of Lancaster University, situated on the borders of the Lake District in the north of England where there is some of the country’s most glorious countryside.

WWCS2004:

"The Host and Organizing Committees for the 7th International Conference on Work With Computing Systems, WWCS 2004 extend a most cordial Selamat Datang and invite you to join us in Kuala Lumpur, June 29- July 2, 2004.

On the theme 'Bridging Diversity at Work' the conference underscores a major focus of our profession on improving work and organizational design, and implementing the results of our research to real-world applications. The theme also highlights the broad scientific, practical and commercial scope of our disciplines that must be shared and bridged. Major aspects of research work and practice undertaken in academia and industry will be discussed during the three-day conference and tutorials.

For the first time WWCS is being held in Kuala Lumpur, a modern and vision city that has much to offer to enrich your experience of true cultural diversity. The charm and warmth of Malaysians, plus the numerous scenic attractions, will add value to your enchanting experience. We look forward to your participation in this international exchange of expertise, experiences and ideas. Over 200 papers will be presented in 40 scientific sessions by delegates from over 30 countries."

Conference - EDU-COM 2004

EDU-COM 2004: Purpose of the Conference:

"EDU-COM 2004, entitled New Challenges for Sustainability and Growth in Higher Education, is the second international conference in a series on educational collaboration in the 21st century. The previous conference, EDU-COM 2002, focused on Education Without Borders, Partnership and Educational Entrepreneurship.

In 2003, at a time of rapid and largely uncontrolled change, university education is challenged on several fronts. More particularly, universities are experiencing changes in administration and governance, in their relationship to their local and more distant communities, in their communication with students face-to-face and online and in their standards of teaching and administration. The five sub-themes of the Conference have been selected to enable delegates to address these changes through their research interests:

- Collaboration between campus and community
- Collaboration targeting multi-cultural and cross-cultural issues
- Collaboration through new teaching and learning technologies
- Collaboration for quality of educational and administrative achievements
- Collaboration for effective governance

In short, the purpose of the conference will be to explore the many challenges facing universities as they grapple with change and push for sustainability and educational growth. Keynote presentations, workshops and parallel paper sessions will enable conference delegates to share experiences and formulate solutions to issues covered within the conference theme."
